Connecting Your PDA for GPS - GPS Card for PDA
GPS Card for PDA The GPS receiver conveniently connects to your PDA through the Compact Flash memory slot. An advantage of getting a GPS card for your PDA is that they are small and compact - no external antenna or connecting cables is required.
The GPS receiver can be used with many popular PDAs including iPAQ, Jornada, Casiopeia, Toshiba, and Sharp's Linux based Zaurus. Some PDAs come bundled with map software, otherwise you need to purchase PDA map software separately.
Wireless GPS Connection You can also wirelessly connect GPS to your PDA using a Bluetooth GPS receiver. Connection is simple with no cables to worry about and since this GPS product does not use your device's CompactFlash or PC card slot, you still have expandability.
PDA GPS Bundles Some PDAs can be purchased bundled with a GPS receiver and software. This is normally cheaper than buying the PDA and GPS separately.
PDA with Built In GPS Some PDAs come with a GPS PC built in. An example is the Garmin iQue 3200. As the GPS is built in you don't have to carry any other separate items. This type of PDA would be recommended if you envisage using the GPS function frequently.
